Changing the future of filmmaking in Brunswick County, NC

In the summer of 2023 Cinebay Film Festival along with Tower 5 Media, Brunswick Arts Council, Brunswick County Library Systems, Friends of the Library, and Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation, Sheena taught her first filmmaking workshop for teens ages 14-18.  The focus was teaching how to work on a Hollywood film set.

FILMMAKING

Want to know what it's like to work on a film set?  Our filmmaking workshop teaches how to work on set, but also the various roles it takes to make a film production come to life.  This extensive course will allow you to work on a set of an actual film and by the end you'll have received a certificate of completion, a filmmaking swag bag, and an IMDb/Film credit of the position you worked.

SCREENWRITING

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC

Do you have a story in mind that you see as a movie?  Have you ever wanted to write a screenplay of your envisioned film, but don't know how?  Our screenwriting workshop will help you properly write your script in the right format, as well as tell a compelling story.   By the end of the workshop you'll receive a certificate of completion and an opportunity to pitch your script to local film companies.

EDITING

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC

Cutting together images to make a story or convey a message can be tedious.  If you have an interest in learning how to edit this workshop is for you.  Not only will you learn how to edit, you'll be taught how to film for your edit.  By the end of the workshop you'll have a certificate of completion and an editing reel to present as a resume or as bragging rights to your friends.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

Filmmaking is not just about owning a camera and recording a video.  It's about telling a story through the use of recorded video frames.  Cinematography is the art form of capturing the images in a way that enhances what the audience sees on screen.  You'll learn about exposure, lighting, camera angles, framing, and various camera technique to fine tune your storytelling ability.
